AVM at the Mobile World Congress 2016

At the Mobile Word Congress (MWC), AVM is presenting new FRITZ!Box models for all broadband technologies and fast, wireless networking in the home network. The European communication specialist already has two new FRITZ!Box models in line for the upcoming speed upgrade for DSL: FRITZ!Box 7581 for supervectoring 35b and bonding and FRITZ!Box 7582 for supervectoring 35b and G.fast. Other highlights at the MWC include the new FRITZ!Box 5490 for fiber optics and the FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable. The FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE enables fast, wireless Internet in European mobile communication networks. With a total of eight wireless LAN antennas and the new Multi-User MIMO technology, the new FRITZ!Box 7580 for VDSL connections provides intelligent, strong WiFi for smartphones and tablets. The new FRITZ! products provide for fast, secure connections for the world of smartphones and tablets with the broadband technologies of the future. Whether users stream 4K videos, play online games or have various mobile devices in their household – FRITZ!Box makes sure they are provided with fast Internet at home or on the go. FRITZ!OS, the operating system of FRITZ!Box, provides versatile convenience for Internet connections and the home network. Free FRITZ!Apps also provide for easy and mobile home networking. Speed upgrade for DSL: FRITZ!Box for bonding, supervectoring 35b and G.fast

With a share of 71 percent, DSL is the leading technology for broadband connections in the EU. For more speed on the copper twin wire in the future, there's the prospect of combining several lines (bonding) or extending the bandwidth for transmission (supervectoring 35b on 35 MHz, G.fast on 106 or 212 MHz). On a cable length of maximum 300 meters, G.fast makes data rates of 1 Gbit/s and more possible. FRITZ!Box is ready and and waiting for these speed boosters for DSL connections: The FRITZ!Box 7582 for supervectoring 35b and G.fast can easily transfer gigabit speeds to the devices in the home network. The FRITZ!Box 7581 supports supervectoring 35b and bonding. Bonding raises the available data rate on existing copper wires up to 240 Mbit/s. Combining bonding and vectoring can even raise possible transmission rates up to 300 Mbit/s. With the upcoming models users receive faster Internet, IP telephony and applications like IP TV and streaming. Plus they can network their devices via LAN or WiFi with gigabit speed.

High speed and convenience on the cable connection: FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable

Fast Internet via the TV cable is very important as a common broadband technology in the EU. FRITZ!Box Cable brings high-speed Internet, VoIP and IP TV to the home. The FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable (DOCSIS 3.0) offers even higher speeds for cable networks, enabling data rates of up to 1.7 Gbit/s downstream and 240 Mbit/s upstream. The FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable relies on fast, intelligent WiFi for wireless communication. With a total of eight wireless LAN antennas and Multi-User MIMO technology it offers optimum WiFi for all mobile devices, just like the FRITZ!Box 7580. The DECT base station integrated in FRITZ!Box Cable is the only terminal device for cable connections to connect cordless phones and Smart Home functions. In combination with FRITZ!App TV or a VLC player, the FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable can also transmit cable TV to smartphones, tablets or notebooks.

More speed on fiber: FRITZ!Box 5490

Fiber technology holds great potential for broadband connections. The new FRITZ!Box 5490 is ideal for direct connections to the fiber optic socket. AVM is relying on the active point-to-point technology of the future, which is designed for deployment on FTTH connections (Fiber to the Home). Fiber optic speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s are also available for the home network with the FRITZ!Box 5490: Fast wireless LAN and gigabit LAN provide for optimized networking. Surfing the Internet, streaming films, online gaming, VoIP and many other applications can run concurrently with the FRITZ!Box for fiber optics.

FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE – Flexible Internet access in 4G mobile communication networks

LTE (4G) enables wireless broadband Internet and makes users independent of DSL, cable or fiber optic connections. With the FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE, AVM is presenting a FRITZ!Box that supports LTE (4G) and UMTS (3G). The handy FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE is suitable for use both at home and when traveling. Fast Internet via LTE with up to 150 Mbit/s (CAT4, FDD) and short reaction times make users independent of DSL and cable connections. Thanks to its multi-band support, the FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE transmits in all German and European mobile communication networks and enables roaming. With gigabit LAN, fast WiFi and the advantages of FRITZ!OS, the FRITZ!Box 6820 LTE offers versatile networking options.

High-end wireless LAN on VDSL connections: The new FRITZ!Box 7580

With its FRITZ!Box 7580 AVM is introducing a VDSL router that offers high-performance WiFi for homes with many mobile devices. The FRITZ!Box 7580 supports VDSL vectoring and provides intelligent wireless LAN with Multi-User MIMO for demanding applications in the home network. The FRITZ!Box 7580 transmits on both frequencies using eight antennas, so that many wireless applications can be used concurrently. By using the gigabit WAN port, this model can also be operated on fast cable or fiber optic connections. Plus, the device offers versatile options for telephony (VoIP, ISDN, analog) and home networking.

Fast, smart and everywhere: FRITZ!OS and FRITZ!Apps

FRITZ!OS is the operating system of the FRITZ!Box and offers versatile convenience for Internet connections and the home network. Options such as a wireless guest access and parental controls are as much part of FRITZ!OS as telephony functions for analog and digital interfaces. Plus, FRITZ!OS presents interesting options for local media streaming, IP TV, Smart Home and a robust firewall and security concept. Thanks to the responsive design of the user interface, customers can access FRITZ!OS features with computers, smartphones or tablets. This way, users can keep track of their network devices and view detailed information on the WiFi connection. Automatic updates bring new functions and provide for security. The free FRITZ!Apps keep users informed and control the devices in the home network intelligently – even when they're away from home.
