In keeping with the motto “Power the Broadband Future”, AVM presents new FRITZ! products for broadband and cable connections at the Anga Com 2015. Special focus is on two upcoming FRITZ!Box models: The FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable with 32 x 8 link aggregation and new wireless LAN with 4x4 Dual Band Wave 2 as well as the FRITZ!Box 5490 for fiber optic connections (FTTH). With the FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable AVM also presents its current flagship for cable, which offers 24 x 8 link aggregation and sets new standards for terminal devices at the cable connections. The upcoming FRITZ!Box 4080 is coming to Cologne as well. As a pure wireless router it can be deployed flexibly on cable, DSL or fiber optic modems. Same as the new FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable the FRITZ!Box 4080 offers the best wireless LAN for highest demands within the home network: 4x4 in 2.4 GHz and 4x4 in 5 GHz with Wave 2 including Multi-User MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology. More trade fair highlights are for example the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater with fast Wireless AC and the preview of the upcoming FRITZ!OS, which is the operating system of the FRITZ!Box. All new FRITZ! products can be experienced live at the AVM stand in hall 10.1.
With the FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable AVM presents its current flagship for cable connections and introduces the next boost in speed for cable networks with its FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable. The current FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable with 24 x 8 link aggregation, Wireless AC, gigabit LAN and DVB-C tuner for video is state-of-the-art for cable connections with 1,300 Mbit/s downstream. The FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable offers even higher speed within cable networks, since it provides 32 x 8 link aggregation with data rates of up to 1.7 Gbit/s downstream and 240 Mbit/s upstream. For wireless communication, the FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable in its new upright, white housing relies on fast, intelligent wireless LAN: Data rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s within the home network are possible through 4x4 Dual Band Wave 2 and Multi-User MIMO. Extremely stable applications such as streaming via wireless LAN are enabled by 4x4 for Wireless N with up to 800 Mbit/s and 4x4 for Wireless AC Wave 2 with Multi-User MIMO of up to 1,733 Mbit/s. Both FRITZ!Box models provide a media server or a NAS function in order for image and music files to be available everywhere within the home network. The integrated DECT base station in FRITZ!Box Cable is unique for terminal devices for cable connections. It allows the operation of six cordless telephones and offers many Smart Home features. A telephone system for analog, ISDN, DECT and IP telephones guarantees comprehensive telephone convenience in HD quality. The new FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable also contains a DVB-C tuner and transmits cable TV via wireless LAN to mobile devices with the home network. Support for Smart Home applications and FRITZ!Apps round off the extensive features. FRITZ!Box 6490 Cable is already available at cable network providers.
The new FRITZ!Box 5490 for fiberoptic networks will be celebrating its debut at the Anga Com. It enables direct access to an Active Optical Network (AON) and thereby relies on the active point-to-point technology of the future, which is designed for the operation of FTTH connections (Fiber to the Home). The new FRITZ!Box 5490 for fiber optics combines everything that makes the established flagship for DSL ˗ the FRITZ!Box 7490 ˗ successful: gigabit speed, latest hardware and the diversity of FRITZ!OS. For higher speed and greater range in the home network, the FRITZ!Box 5490 relies on Wireless AC with 1,300 Mbit/s and Wireless N with 450 Mbit/s. For convenient telephony in HD, the new 5490 incorporates a telephone system with answering machines, an integrated DECT base station for up to six cordless telephones and connection options for analog, ISDN and IP telephones. The powerful media server streams music, images, and video throughout the entire home network. Smart Home functions that are based on DECT round off the full range of features. The FRITZ!Box 5490 supports the simplified provisioning process on the basis of the CPE WAN Management protocol (DSL-Forum TR-069/TR-104). This way provider services such as Internet, IP TV and Voice over IP can easily be realized.
With the FRITZ!Box 4080 AVM is presenting a powerful high-end wireless router for the gigabit home network. The newly developed FRITZ!Box 4080 sports a vertical, white design, and can be deployed with ease on cable connections, DSL connections and with fiber optic modems. It supports 4x4 Dual Band Wave 2 and, thanks to Multi-User MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology, provides for the best wireless LAN for high-demand home networks. The new wireless router transmits in both frequencies (4x4 N and 4x4 AC Wave 2), so that more wireless applications can be operated concurrently, at rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s (2,533 Mbit/s). Each individual device, regardless of its wireless standard, benefits from faster data throughput as well as improved latency and low power consumption. Streaming 4K videos, online games on consoles and different users with smartphones and tablets using the wireless LAN at the same time—the FRITZ!Box 4080 processes all of this and more in best quality and top speed. The FRITZ!Box 4080 also offers more performance with Wireless N on the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Through the modulation method (256-QAM), 200 Mbit/s can be transmitted on each of four streams, reaching up to 800 Mbit/s gross. Moreover, the new FRITZ!Box offers one gigabit WAN port, four gigabit LAN ports and two USB 3.0 ports. Two analog telephone sockets, a DECT base station, and an internal ISDN port round out the comprehensive hardware of the new wireless router. With FRITZ!OS, many convenient features such as FRITZ!NAS, a media server, wireless guest access, Smart Home, an auto-update function and MyFRITZ are available. Market launch of the FRITZ!Box 4080 is planned for the second half of 2015; recommended price (RRP) is 249 euros.
At the Anga Com 2015 AVM is showing a preview of the next FRITZ!OS, the operating system for the FRITZ!Box and FRITZ! products. New is the home network overview, in which all of the devices connected with the FRITZ!Box can be centrally displayed. It also offers a central location for updating FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters and other FRITZ! products. The Wireless LAN Monitor for analyzing the "traffic load" in wireless networks contains even more detailed information on the wireless network. Now users can see at a glance all of the influences by radio networks in the vicinity, along with potential sources of interference, and can select a different channel on the interface. The beloved parental controls feature now offers even more flexibility, with an easy way to spontaneously extend online time via tickets. The FRITZ!Fon models also benefit from the upcoming FRITZ!OS. The DECT phones feature five new, individually selectable start screens and the option to change the font size in the menus. The upcoming FRITZ!OS will be available over the course of 2015.
All FRITZ! products can be experienced live at the Anga Com from June 9 to 11 in Cologne, at the AVM stand Q10 in hall 10.1.
