The first product test is here: Computerbild rates the new FRITZ!Smart Gateway as "very good". Among other things, the testers like the "foolproof setup" and the expansion with a range of Zigbee devices, for example from Philips and Ikea.

The new FRITZ!Smart Gateway supports Zigbee wireless technology for the first time, in addition to DECT ULE. There are a number of possibilities, especially when it comes to lighting control. Computerbild praises the quick and easy setup: "To connect via Wi-Fi, all you have to do is press the Connect button on the Gateway and FRITZ!Box, and if you want to connect the devices with each other via LAN, all you have to do is plug in the cable. Zigbee devices also land in the network with a long press of the Connect button on the gateway.”

Furthermore, Computerbild emphasizes the gateway's practical control. This is not only possible via browser, the FRITZ!App Smart Home or the FRITZ!DECT 440 - a FRITZ!Fon is also a great option: "In the practical test, many settings for a Hue light could also be made on the landline telephone , for example in terms of color, brightness and color temperature.”
