MyFRITZ!App for Android: Home network connection available again

A new version of the MyFRITZ!App is now available in the Google Play Store, with the "Home Network Connection (VPN)" function available again.

This function was removed in the previous version: Establishing a home network connection (VPN) can sometimes not be offered reliably on devices of some individual manufacturers, as well as due to system-side Wi-Fi calling (phone calls via Wi-Fi) or other VPN-based services.

As a reliable solution for accessing the FRITZ! Box user interface on the go, access is instead provided directly from the MyFRITZ!App using the MyFRITZ! service.

Configure home network connection

In response to requests to access the FRITZ!Box home network with other apps while on the move, in addition to access to the FRITZ!Box user interface, version 2.17 of the MyFRITZ!App for Android once again includes the “Home Network Connection (VPN )" function. To do this, set up the connection again in the app settings. When out and about, you can then establish the home network connection in order to reach other devices in the home network.

You can conveniently reach the FRITZ!Box user interface as usual via the “FRITZ!Box” menu item in the MyFRITZ!App.

Did you know? You can control FRITZ! Smart Home devices with the FRITZ!App Smart Home. Give it a go!
