New ring tones, a smart telephone book, convenient sound settings and a Smart Home start screen: Together with FRITZ!OS 7.20 on your FRITZ!Box, your FRITZ!Fon gets a software update with handy features for more comfort and improved voice quality.

Your FRITZ!Fon's new smart telephone book means making phone calls is even faster, displaying matching suggestions as soon as users start entering a number. You don't see any suggestions? Open the phone book once and press the "Options" key. In the "Options" menu set the search mode to "Vanity" and you can now enjoy the added convenience of your phone book.

Regarding telephone books, it's long been possible to synchronize your Google address book with FRITZ!Box. From FRITZ!OS 7.20 onwards, your FRITZ!Box also supports online contacts from Apple (iCloud), Deutsche Telekom (Telekom Mail) and CardDAV providers. This means that you always have your important contacts close at hand, on both your FRITZ!Fon and your iPhone or Android smartphone. Your FRITZ!Box ensures everything syncs smoothly.

Stunning sound, more ring tones

The sound settings provide better sound when playing Internet radio stations and improve speech quality during telephone calls. You can find the new sound settings here:

Press the "Menu" button.
Select "Settings" > "Audio" > "Sound"
Adjust the settings according to your needs

The update also optimizes echo suppression for the called party; and when someone calls, you can enjoy one of nine new ring tones.

Smart Home style for your home screen

The new "Temperature" start screen for your FRITZ!Fon shows a sensor's current temperature. This means you can always keep an eye on the temperature in the living room or bedroom, for example. The new FRITZ!DECT 440 four-way smart switch, the FRITZ!DECT 301 smart radiator control and the FRITZ!DECT 200 and 210 smart plugs all function as temperature sensors.

Are you using the “FRITZ!Box” start screen, which shows you important information about connected devices and telephony? With the new FRITZ!Fon software, all you need to do is click on "OK" and you'll see the latest FRITZ!Box events.

How to get the new features for your FRITZ!Fon

The new features are available with software version 4.57 for FRITZ!Fon C6, C5 and C4. You'll need to have FRITZ!OS 7.20 or 7.21 installed on your FRITZ!Box.
