AVM at the Broadband World Forum 2019

With new standards such as Wi-Fi 6 and 5G, an exciting new era for networks is about to begin. Over three jam-packed days at Broadband World Forum 2019, AVM invites you to discover its latest "Broadband Innovations" with new FRITZ!Box models with Wi-Fi 6 and the world's first home network router for 5G. Visitors can also explore Mesh WiFi with the new FRITZ!Repeater generation as well as the latest additions to the FRITZ! Smart Home.

Next generation WiFi

AVM’s stand at this year's BBWF features the latest products and innovations, including the FRITZ!Box 5550 and FRITZ!Box 5530. The two new routers for fiber optic connections wirelessly distribute gigabit speeds in the home network via Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 Gbit/s fast LAN port. The new FRITZ Box 6660 Cable also has Wi-Fi 6 on board for fast DOCSIS 3.1 cable connections. Its ultra-fast 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port and four gigabit LAN ports make for a supercharged home network.

The world's first home network router for 5G

An additional highlight is the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G, the world's first all-in-one home network router for the new 5G mobile communications generation. With fast wireless LAN, gigabit LAN and a base station for telephony and Smart Home, it offers full convenience on current LTE as well as future 5G connections. The new mobile communications standard provides users with high bandwidth speeds of more than 2 Gbit/s and reduced latency, making the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G perfect for use with real-time applications such as virtual reality and gaming.

The Smart Home gets smarter

AVM is also showcasing three new products to bring your Smart Home to life: a LED bulb, a smart switch and a FRITZ!App for the Smart Home. The FRITZ!DECT 500 smart LED bulb, which offers white and color light for your home or office, expands the FRITZ! Smart Home to include lighting, alongside smart plugs and radiator controls. Along with other FRITZ!DECT products, it can be operated using the new FRITZ!App Smart Home or the new FRITZ!DECT 400, a smart switch with four button shortcuts and an e-paper display. As well as functioning as an all-in-one remote control within the FRITZ! Smart Home, it can also be used as an external temperature sensor.

Mesh WiFi everywhere

The new FRITZ!Repeater generation will also be on display in the Dutch capital. The four new Mesh WiFi Repeaters increase the range of wireless networks quickly and easily, blanketing homes and offices in strong and reliable WiFi. The FRITZ!Repeater 600's compact design saves space and provides great coverage, transmitting signals at up to 600 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz range. The powerful FRITZ!Repeater 1200 supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, achieving up to 1266 Mbit/s. The FRITZ!Repeater 2400 also has a gigabit LAN port and, with four antennas per frequency band, can achieve a performance of up to 2333 Mbit/s for demanding situations. For larger-than-average living spaces, the tri-band FRITZ!Repeater 3000 offers maximum performance, with its additional 5 GHz radio unit and two gigabit LAN ports. Featuring Wi-Fi Protected Setup, all four FRITZ!Repeaters can be used with wireless routers from other manufacturers or providers.

All of the FRITZ! innovations can be experienced live at stand D20 in the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam. Additional information about the Broadband World Forum can be found here.
