FRITZ!OS 7 for FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters and FRITZ!Powerline
Smartphones and tablets etc. benefit from being able to switch the frequency band more quickly, while gamers can look forward to a performance upgrade. WiFi settings in the FRITZ!Box, such as guest access or night mode, are now also adopted by repeaters and powerline products. Alongside automated updates, the WiFi guest access is now also easier to use.
In addition, new mesh functions provide an overview of the position and performance of all mesh components in the FRITZ! home network, including all registrations and "Events" for powerline products or repeaters.
Which products are getting the update?
Alongside the two winners of the big wireless repeater comparison carried out by Stiftung Warentest, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1750E and the FRITZ!Powerline 1260E Set, the following products have already received the update: the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C and 450E, as well as the FRITZ!Powerline 1240E. The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 and FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 310, as well as the FRITZ!Powerline 540E and FRITZ!Powerline 546E will get the update soon.
How to install FRITZ!OS 7
The new FRITZ!OS is installed in just a few clicks. The easiest way to install the update for FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters and FRITZ!Powerline is to go to the FRITZ!Box Mesh Overview (Home Network/Mesh). It's also possible to start the update in the user interface of the respective device. Users who have the auto update function enabled will get the new FRITZ!OS 7 without any extra effort.
