New FRITZ! Lab looks ahead to the latest version of FRITZ!OS

With the new Lab version for the FRITZ!Box 7490, AVM is offering a sneak peek at the upcoming FRITZ!OS version. Security, transparency and convenience take center stage.

New security overview for increased control and transparency

Thanks to the new security overview, users can now see at a glance whether the latest version of FRITZ!OS is installed, which ports are open, who has logged on to/logged off the FRITZ!Box, and much, much more. What’s more, users can also opt to be informed of new FRITZ!OS versions by e-mail.

FRITZ!NAS – making it easier to manage and enjoy music and images

The new version of FRITZ!OS takes into account the fact that more and more mobile devices are being used within home networks. Tablets and smartphones are not just better supported in terms of NAS functionality, but there are also more features to simplify integration into, and management on, the wireless network. FRITZ!NAS users benefit from an integrated HTML player and numerous additional features to help them manage NAS files.

FRITZ! Lab activates Smart Home temperature display

A temperature display is now part of AVM Smart Homes. That’s because FRITZ!OS now activates the temperature sensors found on the FRITZ!DECT 200 and the FRITZ!DECT Repeater 100. The up-to-date laboratory versions, which contain the first new features offered by the latest release of FRITZ!OS, can now be downloaded from FRITZ! Lab.
