Repeater firmware update enables web radio and music service
AVM just launched a new firmware for its FRITZ!WLAN Repeater N/G adding several new audio features. After simple connection, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater not only boosts the WLAN signal of any WLAN router around the house or office, but now also streams your own music and web radio without any computer. The firmware update can be found at www.avm.de/en/Updates-News/index.php3.
FRITZ!WLAN Repeater extends range of WLAN
The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater has been developed to easily extend the range of any wireless network of any router. It supports the WLAN signals of all WLAN standards (802.11 a,b,g and N) and is able to transmit in the traditional 2,4 GHz and the new 5 GHz frequency bands. What is more, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater also comes with a 3,5 mm audio connection and an FM radio transmitter, broadcasting audio and music to any ordinary radio in the house, apartment or garden. These audio features are improved even further by installing the latest firmware.
Your music available almost everywhere in the house
Connected to a FRITZ!Box , the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater now also distributes music and radio, storing up to 20 different radio stations. Thanks to its compact form the device can be plugged into any power socket. To change the station or music track you can touch the screen of the repeater or remote-control any other uPnP-client like Windows Media Player or even your smart phone. The user interface of the repeater can be accessed with any Internet browser at fritz.repeater, where you can also initiate the free firmware update.
