Short notes - FRITZ!OS 6.83 rolled out for FRITZ!Box DSL, fiber optic and LTE
FRITZ!OS 6.83 rolled out for FRITZ!Box DSL, fiber optic and LTE
The FRITZ!OS version 6.83 available since 3 March is now operating successfully in the current FRITZ!Box models for DSL, fiber optic and LTE.
The release optimizes data transmission via multicast for the IPTV Entertain package from Deutsche Telekom. The update further corrects an incompatibility for telephone calls over different networks and increases the demands on passwords for IP extensions.
With over 80 new and expanded functions features and the latest security and stability features, FRITZ!OS offers an ideal foundation for wireless LAN, telephony, Smart Home and the best Internet connection. AVM recommends the update to all users. FRITZ!OS 6.83 was made available both as a one-click update and via auto update, implemented, and has already replaced version 6.80. The current version number 6.83 is displayed on the FRITZ!Box user interface at fritz.box.
Media are currently reporting about a possible weakness in the outdated FRITZ!OS version 6.80/6.81. No case of misuse was reported. Even after an intensive analysis by AVM there's no way to do it. The version 6.80/6.81 was only available for a short time and was completely replaced by the version 6.83 via auto update.
