Expanding the home network quickly and easily

In your own four walls you use the FRITZ!Box as the central controller for all network activities. Transmit data either over wireless LAN or via a direct cable connection to all connected devices, like computers, smartphones, tablets and game consoles. To ensure that you have the best connection in every situation, and to integrate every last corner of the house into your home network, you can use additional FRITZ! products and create even more possibilities in the home network.

More mobility and convenience

When you position the FRITZ!Box in your living room, WiFi reception is strongest, of course, in the direct vicinity. If you want to ensure that a strong signal is available all over the house, opt for a FRITZ!WLAN Repeater. Alternatively, use FRITZ!Powerline to transmit data over the power lines. Both options allow you to connect even devices located far away from the FRITZ!Box and save you the trouble of laying cable.

FRITZ!WLAN Repeater for greater range

Your FRITZ!Box is on the ground floor, but you want to enjoy full wireless reception two stories higher? In this case use a wireless repeater and position it halfway between the reception area and the FRITZ!Box. This device expands the range of the wireless LAN so that even devices located further away can receive the signal.

Simple to use

Depending on the model, FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters are equipped with an additional LAN port so that additional devices without WiFi can be integrated into the home network and operated centrally. Configuration and operation of the repeater is intuitive on all models: Field strength LEDs indicate the strength of the wireless signal at the selected location, and a single push of the WPS button suffices to integrate the repeater into the existing home network.

Wiring instead of cable: FRITZ!Powerline

If you would rather connect devices with the FRITZ!Box directly over cable, but do not want to lay these cables all over your home, the magic word is: Powerline. The powerline adapter is connected with the FRITZ!Box via LAN cable and then inserted into the nearest outlet. Additional powerline adapters can be positioned in outlets next to the devices you want to integrate into the home network, be they game consoles or your smart TV. A short cable is all that's needed to connect the powerline adapter and the terminal device.

Practical data transfer

The greatest distance – perhaps extending across several rooms – lies between the two adapters. Thanks to innovative powerline technology, the data can be transmitted over the power lines, making conventional LAN cable superfluous. All that is needed are short cables to connect the adapter to the terminal device or FRITZ!Box, and these are hardly noticeable and easy to hide.
